We had the best morning in Nice with a team brunch at Clay (https://leclay.fr/), and it really lived up to its reputation as one of the best spots for breakfast and brunch in the city.

The café has a really clean, modern feel with its recognisable Clay branding, and it’s the perfect place to slow down and enjoy a relaxed morning. We went for a mix of dishes, a fresh chicken Caesar salad and their famous French toast with bananas, which genuinely is a must-try and absolutely delicious.

Of course, iced coffees were essential in the Riviera heat, very much in holiday mode and soaking up the Nice atmosphere.

One of the highlights is definitely their drinks menu too – especially for speculoos lovers. The Speculoos latte is incredible (honestly worth getting a second one to take away because it’s that good).

And if you’re not into sweet things, there are plenty of savoury options too, so it works for everyone. On a warm day, sitting outside at the classic French tables and watching the world go by is exactly what Nice is all about.

It’s one of those places we’ll keep recommending to guests – easy, delicious, and perfectly placed for a laid-back brunch in the city.
