This house is very comfortable with its bespoke wooden kitchen, a huge skylight bringing plenty of light into the cosy living area, a wrought iron spiral staircase up to the master bedroom and a bright sunroom from which you can look at the fields of cows and the mountains beyond.
It’s in the Caragh Lake area, the centre of the Reeks District, an area of outstanding beauty with lots of outdoor activities on your doorstep. Fancy a bit of stand-up paddle boarding, kayaking or hiking, this is the ideal location. It’s perfect for relaxing, in the summer for eating outside overlooking the fields of cows and the mountains beyond, it’s cosy in the winter too snuggling into the cosy couches. Enjoy the drive around the lake, which is surrounded by the McGillycuddy Reeks, including the highest mountain in Ireland, Carrauntoohil, making for dramatic views all around.

There are also exceptionally good restaurants in Killorglin, including the new Kingdom 1795 which is on its way to Michelin recognition and Sol Y Sombre tapas restaurant in the old Church. Killorglin also has a great fresh fish shop and delicatessen with local artisan foods

Access
There is one bedroom up a wrought iron spiral staircase, the other two bedrooms are on the ground floor.

We ask that dogs not to jump on and sleep on the furniture, or go in the bedrooms.  We also ask that all traces of your pet be removed at the end of your stay, including the garden and courtyard areas. Thank you in advance.

Spaces
Living Area

There is a very comfortable sunken living area with cosy couches and carpet and the big skylight overhead bringing in lots of light and giving views of the sky as you relax.
There is a lovely bespoke wood kitchen including a Belfast sink and a large fridge and freezer. There is a wooden dining table with wood chairs and a wood bench that seats six comfortably and a large wooden dresser with plenty room to store all.
There is a large sunroom beyond the dining area, this is a lovely bright area with terracotta tiles. It has a large rattan table and very comfortable rattan chairs which can be used in the sunroom or outside on the patio. This room runs the length of the house and is very spacious.

Bedrooms

This house sleeps six very comfortably, it has three bedrooms. The first bedroom on the ground floor has a king size double bed, the second bedroom on the ground floor has a bunk bed with a small double on the bottom and a single on top. The third bedroom, the master bedroom, is up a wrought iron spiral staircase, it has a king size bed and an ensuite. The beds are cosy and comfortable with duvets, cotton bedding and luxurious mattresses.

Outside Space

The sunroom opens out onto a patio area with kettle BBQ. Bring the large rattan table and chairs out and it’s the ideal setting for long lazy lunches with friends or a relaxing time looking out on the fields of cows and the mountains beyond.

Bathrooms

There are two bathrooms in this home. On the ground floor there is a family bathroom with a vintage style freestanding bath and a separate shower. On the first floor there is an ensuite bathroom with shower.


Location

The cute village of Glenbeigh is eleven minutes’ drive away, it has the fantastic Emilie’s, a bakery with great bread and cakes and a restaurant that has the most delicious sourdough pizzas as well as lots of other great food.

This is a fantastic location to tour the breath-taking scenery of the Ring of Kerry route around the Iveragh Peninsula, or head over to the Dingle Peninsula and take the Slea Head drive. If you want to get active try the big 5 guided adventures of the Reeks district, climb Ireland’s highest mountain, kayak the length of Caragh Lake, Surf Inch Beach, cycle the Ring of the Reeks or stand up paddle board on Cloon Lake.
