Grey’s Lane Snug is a gorgeous, inviting three-bedroom cottage with traditional stonework, sash windows, an open fireplace and unique features that reflect Dingle’s local history and times gone by. A superb location close to Dingle’s illustrious harbour, just a stone throw away from all the attractions and amenities of the town yet tucked away on a quiet, residential street. The home is an excellent base from which to enjoy every aspect of Dingle. The interior has an open plan living area, separate kitchen/diner, three Bedrooms and a delightful courtyard with alfresco dining that catches the afternoon sun.

Three bedrooms on the first floor, the Master bedroom at the back of the house has spacious wardrobes, a wooden cot, lockers and bedside lamps. The other two bedrooms, a single and double overlook the town park with charming window seats with calming views, ideal for relaxing with a good book. All the bedrooms have plenty storage, fresh white bed linen and are decorated with eclectic framed pictures.

This cottage has a spacious, fresh white family bathroom full of light with a black and white harlequin tiled floor. There is a bath with an electric shower above it, a sink and a toilet.

Living Area

A unique little porch leads into the main living space, an open plan area with a snug lounge on one side with an open fireplace, flat screen TV and deep, cosy leather couches. On the other side, a stove, seating and a bookcase with games, DVDs and plenty of books from historical to fiction. The walls are adorned with framed prints which relate to the local region and its heritage. They include fascinating mementos from the movie Ryan’s Daughter which was filmed on the peninsula in the early 1970’s.

Kitchen and Dining Area

The kitchen is well equipped with two windows overlooking the courtyard. The dining area is framed by painted wood panelling and has a funky wooden table with lime green painted chairs. The facilities include an electric oven, dishwasher, fridge/freezer, Café Mattino coffee maker, kettle and toaster, washing machine and tumble dryer.

Outside area

The kitchen leads out to a fully enclosed private courtyard to the rear of the house, a great spot for an evening aperitif or for soaking up the afternoon/evening sun.

Amazing house in the heart of Dingle. I couldn’t recommend staying here more.

Would rent it again

We stayed for ten days at this home. It was comfortable and cleverly decorated. Due to the unseasonably warm weather we were able to eat our breakfasts at the garden table instead of the table in the kitchen. The sunlit kitchen was very well appointed for cooking with good sets of plates and glassware for dining in—though several good restaurants nearby. The lounge space was darker and the coolest part of the house during the heatwave. The single bathroom was large and bright; the bedrooms had plenty of storage. Shelly handled special requests —crib for baby—to accommodate our travelers. Surprisingly quiet considering its centralized location. Would rent it again if our travels bring us back to Dingle!

Interesting and quirky

“Wonderful house, great location. Nice manager greeted us, thanks for the gift basket, it came in handy. The books were a really nice, homey touch and we watched Ryan’s Daughter which was fun. Kitchen was well supplied for cooking, some more condiments would be nice. The normal stuff. Lots of comfy furniture and warm blankets. The hot water was a little getting used to but we managed through it. Interesting, quirky electrical meter was fun and the artwork was well chosen. Loved all the framed cartoons in upstairs hall.”

Perfectly decorated

Everything was perfect

This is a place we’re going to be sad to leave behind! It is just as beautiful and comfortable in real life as it is in the photos online. Our host, Shelley, made sure everything was all ok when she greeted us and showed us around; she also had provided a lovely welcome basket with eggs, milk, and some basics that we would need. It is in walking distance to everything you need, including the marina, pubs, a supermarket and a great coffee shop called ‘Bean in Dingle’ which is literally just around the corner. I wish we could live in this place, it’s so homely and we were very comfortable here. Thank you again!

The house was perfect for us. 3 adults and a small child and had everything we needed. Perfect location and Shelley was really helpful with check in. If we’re back in the area we will definitely stay here again.

The location couldn’t be beat

“Very cute property, very clean, great location and very well equipped kitchen, other than for pot holders. A breakfast basket was left which was very thoughtful, especially since Dingle was our first stop on our Ireland trip. The location couldn’t be beat – so close to everything in town. Was convenient when caught in some heavy downpours to go back and change our clothes.”
