The Carré D’or quarter of Nice rose to architectural fame at the end of the 19th century and still keeps much of its historic splendour. Beautiful façades, open boulevards and café terraces fill this area with a lively atmosphere where tourists and locals alike can enjoy the city’s treasures. Longchamp is in the heart of the upmarket shopping district, and a 5-minute walk from the seafront, as well as being within easy reach of the main train station for those who wish to venture a little further along the Côte d’Azur. But don’t miss the wonderful Patisserie Canet which is right on your doorstep and makes cakes to die for. Try the exquisite violet macaroon.
Street parking is difficult in the centre but there are several car parks within easy walking distance of the apartment. Try Parking Grimaldi which is the closest.
Your nearest tram stop, Jean Médecin, is 250m from your door and will take you to the main train station in just a few minutes. There are also plenty of buses from Place Grimaldi to take you west or from opposite the Russian Orthodox Church on rue Longchamp to take you east. Visit www.lignesdazur.com for more information.
