Here is where you will spend your time, a 14m2 terrace perched on this idyllic hillside and ideal for soaking in the surroundings. Optimum Zen, for dozing, reading, sitting back and watching the sunrise. There is also a smaller terrace off the guest bedroom and access to the residents’ swimming pool which also benefits from the spectacular view.
The master bedroom has large sliding French windows, which open onto the vast terrace; closed or open your gaze will be drawn out across the bay towards Cap Ferrat across the glistening azure waters. Morning, noon or night there is no tiring of this view. A double mattress (140×200), electric shutters, reversible AC, bedside reading lamps plus spotlights all combine to encourage a perfect night’s sleep whatever the season. There is also a large wardrobe and desk for your holiday journal. The twin guest bedroom (mattress’s 80×200 x 2) also has a splendid view, bedside tables and a smaller terrace with table and deckchairs.
There are two sparkling white bathrooms to choose from. One has a bathtub for extra relaxation, shower fitting and basin with storage, the second has a shower cubicle, bowl basin and toilet.
Summer or winter this is the ideal room to enjoy the superb views. Floor to ceiling windows make up one side of the room, a living panorama of the Côte d’Azur! Sit back on the large L-shaped sofa and drink it all in. For faster action there is also a smart TV, with Netflix, a blue-tooth Bose speaker for music and of course wifi. The sofa also turns into a bed to sleep two extra guests if needed (Please note there is an additional cost for the linen if the sofa bed is required of €40).
Kitchen and dining area
Designed to make the most of the view, the open plan kitchen-living-dining room is ideal for stay-at-home meals with a dining table to seat six. The corner kitchen keeps the chef involved in what’s going on, and has a triple hob, microwave, kettle, toaster and coffee maker. A dishwasher makes things easy, and there is a washing machine, iron and clothes-horse to take care of your laundry needs.
Villefranche is a haven of tranquillity just outside Nice with a small but bustling central marketplace and easy beach access. A glorious place to visit in both the busy summer months or the more peaceful winter season. A short drive, bus or train ride, or a glorious coastal footpath connects you to Nice but there are plenty of restaurants, bars, boutiques and even an outdoor summer cinema for local entertainment. The beaches are perfect for swimming, snorkelling, paddle boarding or whatever water-sport takes your fancy, and are welcoming for people of all ages.
Choosing to use public transport is extremely convenient and can avoid some of the summer congestion. Local buses pass in both directions along the main road, Bld Princesse Grace de Monaco, into the centre of Nice and east towards Monaco and Menton – This is just a 5 minute walk from the apartment. The train station is a beautiful 20-minute walk through the centre of Villefranche and will cut out traffic jams in both directions.
There is street parking available in Villefranche, it can get crowded on the narrow winding streets —especially in the summer months, but our guests have never had an issue before! Parking Wilson is the closest car park, around a 15-minute walk. Check http://villefranche-sur-mer.fr/parkings-2/
By Car: Closest parking: along the street but depending on free space.
