Overview

The Break is a secluded paradise where the sound of the gushing stream instantly takes you away … its mesmerising. The water flows over mossy rocksin this idyllic scene with speckled light from the leafy trees above, the place to grab a book and relax. Its safe for children as not deep, in fact they would love it! This two bedroom traditional cottage in Kerry’s surfing mecca has contemporary interiors that reflect the owners laid back style without losing the charm of an Irish cottage.  A short walk to the beach, the surf, a bar/restaurant and the golf course. Its also just a five minute drive to Castlegregory village, the gateway to the Maharees.

Bedrooms

There are two bedrooms in The Break. The master bedroom is light and airy with a double bed, wardrobe and bedside lamps. The second bedroom has a double and a single together in a bunk so could be for parents with one child or three children. Both bedrooms have the exposed stonework with deep windows seats typical of a traditional cottage.

Bathrooms

The bathroom off the main living area includes a shower, sink and toilet. The laundry facilities, a washing machine and dryer are also in this room.

Living Space

The stylish open plan living space includes a kitchen/diner and a lounge area surrounding a large wood burning stove. High vaulted ceilings and skylights flood light into this wonderful room. The lounge area has a sofa bed for one if needed for an extra person. The whole house has original stonework exposed with a white washed natural walls.

The unique, rustic kitchen is meticulously crafted with detail blending the raw materials of wood and slate with modern appliances including an electric oven and hob, dishwasher, large blue fridge/freezer, blender, kettle and toaster.

Outside Space

A spacious garden out the back with established trees and alfresco dining. The stream makes this such a special place to be. There is picnic table at the front of the house right by the stream.

A house to feel well and relaxed
Posted on: 22/12/2018

Beautifully renovated Irish farmhouse, excellently furnished with everything you would need and ecologically faultless.

We spent restfull days and evenings in front of the fireplace with a view of the stars (dormer window).

A house to feel well and relax.

The nearby giant sandy beach is phenomenal , the hiking possibilities are exceptional and the closeness of good pubs

(with live music) and restaurants are amazing.

 We´ll come back!

Accommodation was great!

The accommodation was just great – a feel-good house, lovingly furnished and well equipped. The proximity to the beach (long walks) and to Tomasin’s bar (good food) we enjoyed. We had a wonderful holiday

Perfect stay

We had the perfect stay, the house itself was beautiful, a perfect place to stay in the countryside. We loved all the little details like the rocks collected at the local beach and the simple and perfectly designed space. It had all the things you need plus a lovely location. There was a beautiful stream and the hamlet had a very cozy pub with food but it is also not far from lots of amazing restaurants
