Overview

Woodland Lodge offers laid back glamour with all the comforts of home, protected by serene evergreen forest and just a few minute’s walk from the unspoilt Drom beach. Stylish warmth and relaxed elegance define this newly built four-bedroom gem. The interior is a combination of tactile textures, delightful prints and contemporary pattern where cool mid-century furniture blends with timeless design. The whitewashed distressed flooring throughout the large open plan living area along with the fresh blue & white decor creates a bright, classic space in contrast to our favourite room, the colourful cosy TV snug down the hall.

The location is amazing and so central to all the Dingle Peninsula has to offer…a short five-minute drive from the white sands of Brandon Bay, a three  minute drive to the villages of Cloghane/Brandon and just a fifteen minute drive to Dingle or the surfing mecca of Castlegregory in the other direction. Nearby rivers boast world-class trout and salmon fishing.

Access

 This single level home has no steps and is wheelchair accessible.    

Bedrooms

There are four bedrooms in Woodland Lodge. Two large double rooms with king size beds, TV’s and sleek ensuite wet rooms. Both pair comfort with uncluttered minimal design including built-in headboards with power points and lamp stands and Slide wardrobes with bespoke cabinets of drawers inside. There is a twin room and a kid’s room with two sets of bunk beds. The main family bathroom across the hall serves both of these bedrooms. All the bedrooms have brand new furnishings with warm cosy carpets, tasteful artwork, bedside lamps and are dressed with stylish cushions and throws.

 

Bathrooms

All the bathrooms are fully tiled and display attention to detail with chrome heated towel racks, recessed alcove shelves with lighting and sleek, contemporary fixtures and fittings.

The main family bathroom includes a bath, a shower, toilet and sink. The two ensuite bathrooms are wet rooms with a minimalist sheet of glass that divides the large shower areas from the toilet and sink. 

Living Area

The main living area is a huge light-filled, L-shaped open plan room featuring a high barrel ceiling over the kitchen/diner/lounge. The dining area features a large oak table with gorgeous soft navy chairs surrounded by windows overlooking the woods. The lounge area has a wall of bright white bespoke bookcases that is anchored by sizeable the plush navy rug under the seating area.  The well-chosen furniture provides both comfort and elegance.

The taupe kitchen is open to both the dining area and the lounge.  It’s perfectly suited for relaxed or formal entertainment. The kitchen features good quality cabinetry with plenty of worktops and storage space, an island that doubles as a breakfast bar and high quality appliances including an electric hob and an oven with overhead fan and lighting, a dishwasher, fridge/freezer, kettle, toaster and a cafeteria. The area has recessed and modern wood pendant lighting that can be switched to provide a well-lit area or a softer, more intimate atmosphere.

Just off the kitchen is the utility room which houses the washing machine and tumble dryer, along with additional storage cabinets, a worktop for folding clothes and plenty room for the clothes-drying rack.

Separate Snug/Library

The cozy snug/library offers a second, private fun-zone or retreat with a wood burning stove, warm carpet, vibrant colours and eclectic artwork. The room is dominated by the built-in bookcases that house the large flat screen TV/DVD, books and trinkets. The bright mid-century furniture and unique cushions help to make this entertaining room work.

 

Outside Space

Woodland Lodge has a large lawn, private parking for three cars, alfresco dining and a detached garage for secure storage of sporting equipment.

Would recommend a stay at Woodland Lodge

A great house! A very sociable entertaining area with the bonus of a separate lounge. All areas are very nicely decorated, comfortable and clean. Location good although need a car to get around. Most local shop was in Cloghane for bakery and basic or a larger Spar in Castlegregory. Castlegregory and Dingle great for activities. Lots to do in the area and beautiful beaches nearby. Clodagh was a good communicator. Would recommend a stay at Woodland Lodge.
