This place is absolutely unmissable for anyone visiting Nice. One of the most famous attractions of the city, this 7km promenade runs from the Castle Hill (La colline du Château in French) all the way to Nice airport.
While you may not fancy walking the whole length of the promenade, one of the nicest parts to walk is the stretch that goes from the old town of Nice that passing through the Jardin Albert 1er and the Palais de la Méditerranée. If you fancy exploring further you can hire a bike so you take in more of the promenade and stunning sea views.
2: The Old Town of Nice
You will see the Old Town of Nice being recommended on every tour guide and website about Nice, but there is a good reason why! Nowhere else will you see such a traditional old town full of narrow alleyways, Mediterranean shuttered windows and quaint buildings that can take your breath away.
There is a famous market held every morning, except for Mondays, called the Cours Saleya. Known for its beautiful flowers and local produce, you will feel just like a local as you wander around picking up some delicious local delicacies with an arm full of fragrant flowers. The marketplace transforms into a flea market on Mondays, so great for rummaging around for a bargain or rare treasure to take home with you!

3: Try the ‘cuisine Niçoise’
To really get a taste for the local culture you must try the traditional local cuisine, which is the pride of the niçois people. Look out for traditional dishes such as Socca, which is made from chickpea flour, and a fried snack called Panisse – another food made from chickpea flour that is delicious and very addictive!
A savoury recipe made with anchovies and onions is a dish called Pissaladière. This is a tasty pie indeed, but if you are not a fan of anchovies, you can get a version made without it. Of course, one of the most famous regional dishes is the Salad niçoise – made with fresh-caught Tuna, locally grown tomatoes, salad and crunchy raw vegetables, anchovies, hard-boiled eggs, olives niçoises and dressed with local produced olive oil vinaigrette.
