Traditional yet forward-thinking, gastronomic, creative, historic, friendly, inspiring; le petit Marais of Nice is fast living up to the reputation of its big sister in Paris. Rue Bonaparte, the centre of all things hip is just around the corner, offering restaurants, vintage shops, fresh produce and lively bars. It’s a 400m stroll to the quayside to see the small fishing boats, yachts and ferries setting sail to Corsica. The Port neighbourhood is great for antiques browsing with a flea market, galleries, a modern art museum and antique shops. For more sporty types the Club Nautique offers sailing lessons and rents equipment and there are great spots for snorkelling along the rocky coastline of Coco Beach.
