Ireland’s oldest National Park: formed in 1932 when Senator Arthur Vincent and his family entrusted Muckross House & Estate into the care of the Irish State. The house and its gardens have been entertaining people from all over to come and see original pieces of furniture, artwork, trophies and many other furnishings from that period. The extent of the park’s range and rugged landscapes reaches 26,000 acres, encompassing many famous landmarks such as McGillycuddy Reeks mountain range, which includes the 1000metres Carrauntoohill – Irelands highest Mountain. This park has an array of activities – why not try canoeing/ kayaking or even join in on one of the hiking and walking trials?!
