As anyone who visits Dingle knows, it's a haven for arts, crafts and independent shops. And, just when we thought the shopping couldn't get any better, TRIPSER opened selling stunning travel retro Irish posters. [email protected] talks to PAULA FARRELLY the creative force behind behind Tripster.
So, how did this all start?
"I have been a collector of travel posters since spending some time in the south of France in my early twenties. Then when I first came to Dingle I opened an antique shop and one of my best sellers were retro travel posters which Paul Henry was commissioned to design. Earlier this year I decided to do a selection of retro travel posters inspired by places I've been and iconic areas where I live."
Are the posters all designed by you?
"All the designs are original work. They begin as hand sketches which are then developed into digital artwork."
Why now? Why have you opened the shop now?
People of all ages are travelling a lot more and want to bring something home that will remind them of good times, memories with family and friends. Travel posters also make a good visual impact in your home as they are quite colourful and stylised.
Have you been busy since opening?
Its been really busy since I opened and the feedback has been huge.
