When we think of Valentines Day we automatically think of couples and being in a relationship.  But, what if, you’re single like me and want to dedicate the day to spending it with your girls instead. After all, men come and go but the girls are always there to stay. Cherishing and embracing friendships is so important, and Galentine’s Day is there to ensure you remember that.

There are no strict rules when it comes to Galentine’s Day festivities. Celebrate how you want! Get your girls together and have a movie night in (or out 😉 ) with all the moreish treats you could dream of. Or as the saying goes – go big or go home, do something wild and why not book a trip with us to the French Riviera and celebrate in style. Here’s what you could be getting up to –

Start the morning off in one of our apartments with one or two mimosa’s… or ten? Cook up some pancakes or eggs for breakfast – are you more of a sweet or savoury kind of girl? Personally, i’m more sweet! Then get yourselves dressed and head to the main shopping centre – Massena in Nice for a shopping day out – every shop; you could ever think of is there – Galeries Lafayette (it’s basically the UK version of Selfridges), Sephora, Zara… the list goes on, you name it! Treat yourselves, as the saying goes.

When lunchtime hits, Nice has a great selection of Cafe’s to sit down and enjoy a bite to eat. Or if you’re on more of a budget, head to the local Supermarket – Monoprix, grab some fresh bread and sandwich fillings and head down to the promenade and have a picnic on the beach. On the way there, you’ll be heading through the Old town – use this as your time to sightsee and get lost in the beauty of the narrow cobbled streets and small business shops, there’s some real gems in the area.

After a day out exploring Nice, you’ll want to finish the day off by getting glammed up and partaking in a night out in the heart of Nice, there are some really amazing restaurants for dinner – take a look at our travel guide on our website. And after, there’s some amazing cocktail bars to try – Waka Bar, La Lupita, Bocca, Movida and finish of at Wayne’s, in the Old town. Wayne’s is iconic on the Riviera for being able to dance on the tables.

The good thing about Nice is that everything is within walking distance, so after a night out in Nice you’ll be back at one of our apartments in no time. At Stay YNA, we have a great selection of apartments to chose from. From one bedrooms to three.

Maison Dior This apartment is one of my favourites at StayYNA. It sleeps up to 6 guests with 3 bedrooms and looks like a cover shoot from Designer Homes magazine, achingly cool and located in a classic art deco building. Did we mention it’s in an amazing location, close to all the tram links.

Gabrielle – This is one of our smaller apartments but don’t fear! I know that it’s difficult getting together a big group of girls but why not just go in a pair. The balcony is amazing for snapping up some shots with it’s terracotta rooftops, colourful cathedral domes and Niçoise life laid out before you.

Chez Aynur – This apartment is in a great location and has two spacious bedrooms. Urban chic with a blend of classic and contemporary fittings, including herringbone parquet floors. The choice is yours…

And there, is your Valentine’s Day sorted…
