This annual event held since 2003 has gained a national and international reputation as one of the toughest half iron distance races on the Irish triathlon circuit. The event starts with a 1900m swim in the Kenmare bay, followed by an 83km cycle from Kenmare out along the ring of Beara peninsula before going up and over the other side. The descent continues back down the ring of Beara and through lots of different towns and roads.  Finally, the 21km run course will lead you through quiet country roads along by the River Sheen before turning back and approaching hilly terrain to take you to the finish line in the heart of Kenmare town.
