The Coolest Cafe in Nice

Now the quirkiest and coolest cafe in Nice! What was once an average coffee shop stop for cyclists in Nice, is now a premium cycling fashion brand – bringing a little Française style to the world of cycling apparel. This cafe has never parted with its roots, however, as you can still swing by their fabulous cafe clubhouse for a coffee and a bite to eat. Or what’s better, you can hire a bike for a Riviera ride – The best of both worlds if you ask me!

In The Heart of Nice Port

Their original Café was born in a traditional French café nestled in the hills above France’s Mediterranean coast and now they’ve relocated to a shop right in the heart of the Nice Port. Just imagine a beautifully renovated Café, trendy and fashionable cycling gear, expert bike mechanics, swish changing facilities and exclusive bikes to rent. This brand really is the ‘GOAT’ of the cycling world.

The best cycling routes in Nice

Come and see for yourself why the Cote D’Azur is a cyclist’s paradise! One of our favourite cycling routes to take is known as Café du Cyclistes ‘secret weapon.’ This one is for the adventurous spirits who want to see everything that the Alpes Maritime has to offer. Start by riding north out of Nice, leave the Paillon valley to ascend the Col de Nice via the traffic-free route – Blausasc. A quick descent and traverse across the bridge in L’Escarène will bring you right to the start of the famous Col de Braus. The scenic beauty of the ride will begin at the Braus summit, where you will take the gravel road to the right and end up in Frances highest coastal village – Sainte-Agnès. It also happens to be the half-way point on the climb of the Col de la Madone from Menton. Feel free to push hard on the pro’s testing ground as after the summit, it’s a straight 35-minute descent back to Nice.

Total distance – 82km  Time – 3.5 -4 hours

See Monte Carlo by Bike

Another favourite route of ours… Start by heading out of Nice towards Monaco and en route you will have glistening sea views to your right and cliff views to your left, you’ll even get to experience a glimpse of the infamous F1 Grand prix circuit in Monte Carlo. Continue the climb out towards the last town in France – Menton and over the border into Italy. A quick loop will take you off the main road up a picturesque Italian riverside village and you’ll be back the way you came. Or if you want to embrace the beauty of this Italian village – Dolce acqua then stop off for a traditional Italian coffee. Be aware that Monte Carlo during rush hour can get pretty congested!

Total distance – 72km 3 – 3.5 hours
